Teachers who assign a Gemini Notebook in Google Classroom can now see Gemini summaries of how students used it, plus each student's chat transcript. Students see a notice that their conversations are visible to their teacher. Admins can also now allow external sharing of Gemini Notebook, including with trusted domains.

Teachers and students must each be in a group or OU with Gemini Notebook set to On. External sharing for Gemini Notebook is off by default and is controlled at domain, OU and group level in the Admin console, including Trusted Domains. Insight summaries roll out from 19 October 2026 to Education Fundamentals, Standard and Plus.
