Admins start an export from the Search tab in Vault by choosing "Gemini in Workspace", then set custodians or organisational units (up to 5,000 users) and a date range. Exports are JSON, via the Vault UI now and the Vault API within 14 days of the UI rollout. Only conversations created while conversation history is on are captured. Admins can use OU-level conversation history and deletion settings in the Admin console to govern retention. Retention rules and litigation holds are listed as coming in future releases.
